Zdenka's Rock is an about 10 m high rock tower with an observation platform. It is located in the Czech Republic
, about 4 km northeast of the city Turnov
, in the Nature Reserve Klokoč Rocks
. Zdenka's Rock is a natural sandstone tower set in the beautiful surroundings of sandstone rocks and pines. It stands at an altitude of approximately 385 m above sea level. From the top of Zdenka's Rock we can enjoy a lovely view of the valley of the river Jizera, the village Loužek, the Bethlehem Mill, the Nature Reserve Bučiny u Rakous, the village Besedice
and their surroundings.
The best way to get to Zdenka's Rock is from the village Záholice, where is a small parking place on the village green. From the parking place the journey continues on the red tourist trail in the direction of Klokoč Rocks
. After about one kilometre on the Klokoč trail turn left at the signpost, and after a 400 m walk through the beautiful nature you will get to the lookout.
For the more experienced tourists, Zdenka's Rock can be a part of a longer trip. For example: start at the railway station ČD Turnov, follow the red trail in the direction of the Klokoč Rocks, Záholice, Zdenka's Rock, Průchody above the village Klokočí
, continue on the yellow trail to the ruins of the Rotštejn Castle
and to the village Loktuše
, where there is a restaurant and a bus stop for your return to the Turnov
railway station. The total length of the trail is about 9 km.
