Yalta is a city in the Ukraine . It is situated in the southern part of the country, on the Crimean Peninsula , at the northern coast of the Black Sea. The city has over 80,000 inhabitants.

About the city

The today's city Yalta lies in the area of an ancient Greek colony. It is surrounded by the woody Crimean Mountains, which are perfect for taking trips. The local warm Mediterranean climate made Yalta the most popular resort on the Crimean Peninsula . The city became famous due to the peace conference at the end of the Second World War.

Tourist attractions

The most significant building in the city is the Livadia Palace . Other important monuments are the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the Massandra Palace. There are many museums in the city center, the most visited of which is the Anton Pavlovich Chekhov's Museum. You can also visit the zoological garden or the large aquarium in Yalta. Other local tourist attraction is the longest trolleybus track in the world, which leads as far as to the city Alushta and Simferopol .
