Xa Loi Pagoda

Xa Loi Pagoda is the largest pagoda Vietnam , standing in Ho Chi Minh City better known as Saigon. Xa Loi Pagoda was built in 1956, according to the plans of the architects Tran Van Duong and Do Ba Vinh. The Gautama Buddha statues displayed in the temple were made by the sculptors from the city of Bien Hoa. The main hall was decorated with the paintings of Nguyen Van Long. They show different scenes from Buddha's life, from his birth to the achievement of nirvana. The pagoda´s bell tower was opened to the public in 1961. It is 32 m high, it has 7 floors, and it is the tallest bell tower in Vietnam .
