Wulingyuan
Wulingyuan is a karst area in China . It is located in the central part of the country, in Hunan province, north of the city Dayong. Wulingyuan is mainly known for quartzite and sandstone karst formations, some of which are up to 800 m high. The whole area consists of beautiful rock towers, gorges and bridges. There are many protected species of flora and fauna. The Chinese consider this area the most beautiful in the country. The karst area of Wulingyuan has been registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1992.
