Even though the complex is a popular auto-camping today, let us look into the history of the buildings and the circumstances that accompanied its construction. Many events were organized at the stadium but none of them larger in size than the Olympic Games. From 18 to 24 June, the preparation of the German Olympic team for the Los Angeles Olympic Games took place there. In 1937, it hosted the twelfth year of a German music festival. After the Second World War, the stadium was renamed to Karol Świerczewkiego's Stadium. In 1978, four eighty-meter pillars for lighting were built at the stadium and with 2,800 lights, it used to be the best-lit stadium in Europe in its time.
There is an auto-camping in the complex of the stadium. It is opened from 1 May to 15 October, a night for one person costs about € 15. The area of the camp is 2.5 ha. The camp has standard equipment- it is convenient for caravans (5.5 m) as well as residential cars (7.5 m) .
