Wroclaw Botanical Garden is the second oldest botanical garden in Poland , after the Botanical Garden in Krakow . Its history dates back to 1811. The garden is located within a protected landscape area and occupies a total area of 7.4 hectares. The expositions present over 12,000 species. The Wroclaw Botanical Garden is proud of large collections of Hedera (ivy) , Nymphaea (water lily) , Paeonia (peony) , Bromeliaceae, Rhododendron and historical varieties of Azalea and freshwater aquarium plants. You can also admire many species of ornamental trees and shrubs, as well as a variety of fauna. The Wroclaw Botanical Garden organizes regular exhibitions and lectures.
