Transport
Vinaros is accessible by plain, car, train or bus. The nearest international airport is Reus-Salou (90 km from the resort Salou ) . You can than get to the city by a taxi, transfer, bus (indirect) or a train. Eight trains per day depart from the train station (about 2 km west from the city centre) in the resort Vinaros to Valencia (via Castelló ) and to Barcelona (via Tarragona ) . There is a new airport in Castelló, about 70 km far from the resort Vinaros. About the resort
Vinaros is, apart from its beaches and prawns, also renowned for the carnival that annually takes place in February. It is one of the most popular carnivals in the region. The most notable monument in the city is the church of Església Arxiprestal de l'Assumpció from the 16th century. You can also visit an excellent fruit and vegetable market nearby. The docks and the market are worth a visit in early evening when you can watch the auction of the catch of the day, which is then distributed to restaurants throughout the whole region - since Vinaros is far-famed for its fish.
