About Vidin
The locality was inhabited in the 1st century already so the city has a lot to offer. Probably the most significant monuments in Vidin are two well-preserved medieval forts - Baba Vida and Kaleto. There are several old Orthodox churches in the town, for example, St. Pantaleimon and St. Petka (both were built in the 17th century) ; and St Greatmartyr Dimitar (Dimitrius) from the 19th century) . The synagogue was built in 1894. Tourist usually admire the mosque and the library, the Kazarma (1798) , and valuable Renaissance houses.
