University of Bucharest

Front side of the building is decorated by statues of important pedagogues and politicians and is lined with kiosks selling books. The university was found in 1959 after the union of Valaska and Moldavia and until the communist revolution, wealthy students were educated in law and other humanist sciences. In communist era, education was mainly focused on technical branches. Since the democratic overturn, university concentrates on economical studies and foreign languages, and keeps great reputation.   Edit »
