Tabon Caves
Tabon Caves are a large cave complex in the western part of the island Palawan in the Philippines . The caves are located about 100 km off the city Puerto Princesa and are accessible by bus. You can also buy one of the tours organized by local agencies in Puerto Princesa. There are about 200 caves in the area of the Tabon Caves but only about 29 of them have been explored and 3 of them are accessible to public. more »

Tabon Caves are well-known for findings of prehistoric human bones and other fossils. More than 47,000 years old human remains, 20,000 years old tools and almost 2,000 years old Chinese ceramic were found there. Most of the findings were moved to the National Museum in Manila but some of them have been preserved in the caves for the visitors who can freely explore the caves and the tunnels. There are many beautiful caves, islands, islets and white beaches near the cave complex..
