Stohanek is the ruins of a rock castle. It stands on a rock formation in the forest. It is located in a former military area Ralsko, near the village of Hamr na Jezeře, in the former region of Česká Lípa , in the Czech Republic . Stohanek was built by the Wartenberg family around 1430. The castle was partly made of wood, but only a few parts of the rock staircase and niches survived. In the 16th century, the castle was abandoned. In the next century a hermitage was built here, which functioned until 1773, and then it was pulled down. In the 20th century, Stohanek was a part of the military zone. Today, it is freely accessible, and it offers impressive views of the country.
