Signal de Botrange (694 metres a.s.l.) is the highest peak of Belgium and also the highest point of Hautes Fanges area, that is a part of mountain range Ardennes. The peak raises up nearby the border with Germany. In 1923 was built up on the peak 6 metres high man-made hill. It was named by officer H. Baltiovi. The hill was built in order for visitors to achieve 700 metres a.s.l. In 1934 was built 18 metres high stone tower on the hill. In winter season is the peak Signal de Botrange start location for ski runners tracks.
