Sichuan is a province in China
. It is located in the south-central part of the country. In this province we can find the Qionglai and Jiajin Mountains, as well as seven nature reserves and nine landscape parks. This region covers an area of 924 500 ha, and it is a home to more than a third of the world population of great pandas. Due to the fact that its original environment - paleotropical forests, has been preserved here. There are many other endangered species such as the red panda, the snow leopards and the clouded leopard. Here, in Sichuan we can find the largest botanical diversity in the world, right after the tropical rain forests. Sichuan has been registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2006.
