The Semenawi Bahri National Park is a protected area in Eritrea
. It is situated northeast of the capital city Asmara
The Semenawi Bahri National Park is nicknamed "the Green Belt." It comprises the last remnants of mixed tropical forests of Eritrea . The altitude in this region ranges between 900 and 2400 m.
Economic and Natural Importance
For hundreds of years the Semenawi Bahri National Park has been extremely important. The soil within the park is fertile and the area is known for relatively abundant rainfall. The fauna and flora is quite rich as many protected species have been identified in this area. Some of them are endemic species. At present, there is a new asphalt road throughout the Semenawi Bahri National Park.
