Roman Colosseum

Roman Colosseum is a famous amphitheater in Italy . It is located in the capital city Rome . It is the most important monument in the city. Roman Colosseum was built on the swamp by the emperor Vespasianus in 72 AD. The Colosseum was the venue of cruel gladiator games which were held for public entertainment. This unique and monumental Roman building comprises 80 arc entrances. The Roman Colosseum is 85m long, 55m wide and 48m high. It is built of stone and marble. In the time of its greatest fame it had the capacity of 55 thousand spectators. Although Roman Colosseum was damaged over the centuries it remains the dominating landmark of the majestic city even now.
