Rietveld and Schroeder´s House was built by an architect Gerrit Thomas Rietveld in 1924 on the order of Ms. T. Schroeder. The house became the manifesto of the art group "De Stijl". This group was founded in 1917 and its supporters wanted to express a paradise, order and harmony in art. They stood out for versatility and reduction of the visual arts. Currently, Rietveld and Schroeder´s House is an icon of modern architecture and an inspiration for contemporary architects. Therefore, in 2002 the house was inscribed as the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
