They are about 1 kilometre far from each other, separated with Staufensee Lake with fantastic blue water and a hydroelectric power plant that was built a hundred years ago (a tour around the plant on request) . The gorges in Rappenlochschlucht - Alploch are marvellous, and they are recommendable for walking. The rock walls are provided with nice little wooden pavements. The sceneries are great, especially at the part of the gorge with waterfalls. According to local tourists the trail is suitable for families with children, too. The gorges in the area of Rappenlochschlucht - Alploch are accessible from April to October. In winter they are closed because of danger of falling rocks. During the summer season (July and August) , every Thursday, tourists can have a tour around the rocks with a guide for free. The starting point for this guided tour is at Mammutbaum in Gütle, the tour begins at 10.30..
