Raglan is a seaside resort on the western coast of Northland in New Zealand . It is located in the Waikato region, about 35 km west of the city of Hamilton . For example the nearby Whale Bay is famous among the surfers for its so-called Left-hand wave. Raglan is a traditional seaside resort, where you can find historical monuments, as well as a huge number of accommodation facilities and restaurants. Besides surfing, the cruises and kayaking are also very popular. The visitors can admire the rock pillars towering from the sea and the coast of the bay. Raglan is also an appropriate starting point for exploring the beauties of the island. About 21 km in southeast direction, is the 55 m high Bridal Veil Falls, which plunges from a rock crack into a deep lagoon. On the southern part of Raglan we can see the Pirongia forest park interwoven with a dense network of paths leading for example to an extinct volcano Mount Pirongia (959 m) and Mount Karioi (756 m) , from which you can enjoy a splendid view of the surroundings.
