Category: Cities, Local time: 04:49:04, Address: 38 Looe Street, Plymouth, United Kingdom, Tel.: +44 1752 206114, Official WWW website:

Plymouth, with its famous port, is a very important city in the United Kingdom. It is located in the south-western part of England (Plymouth), approximately 60 km (38mi) from the city Exeter. Currently, the population of the city approximates around 260,000. It is associated with pioneering voyages of Francis Drake, Walter Raleigh, Pilgrim Fathers, James Cook as well as Charles Darwin. Since then, it has grown to a substantial city. Its oldest part is a cluster of historic buildings around the Hoe, which is a park and a parade surrounded by memorials to naval men, including the famous Mayflower Stone. There is also a massive Royal Citadel, built to guard the harbour, and the fascinating Aquarium. Among the most frequented streets are Saint Andrews Street and Whimple Street. Many tourists want to visit the Plymouth Synagogue. Families with children (but not necessarily) usually head to the Buckfast Butterflies & Otter Sanctuary.
