Plomari is the southernmost town on the island of Lesbos in Greece . The town is known particularly for the production of the local Greek drink Ouzo. Plomari is situated on the southern part of the island, on the foreland between the Gera and Kaloni bays. Plomari is tens of kilometers away from the other towns on Lesbos and so it is arranged. The town offers its inhabitants as well as tourists all they need for a happy life: enough accommodation vacancies, tens of restaurants as well as local bank branches. In summer months the town displays an atmosphere of Greek tradition and there is good night life. The location directly by the sea ensures a romantic scenery. Tourists who don´t stay directly in Plomari will be attracted to the town by the fore-mentioned Ouzo drink. If you go and eat out in a good restaurant during your stay, you will most likely get Ouzo after your meal. The drink is produced right in Plomari. The Ouza festival, held in the summer months, is dedicated to this drink, too.
