Planetarium Olsztyn projects to visitors a breathtaking view of the stars in the sky - they can see the sky with nearly 6 thousand stars. The dome of the projection room simulates the celestial sphere. Its diameter is some 15 meters. On the sky of the planetarium, you can see the stars and a large galaxy in Andromeda, Large and Small Magellanic Clouds and e.g. the bow in the Milky Way. The Planetarium Olsztyn features a view of the sky from different places on Earth. You can watch the yearly motion of the Sun around its axis and the resulting change in day length, depending on the season. Visitors can observe the annual motions of the planets visible to the naked eye. They can observe all phases of the Moon cycle, and partial or total solar eclipse. Audio-visual equipment the of Planetarium Olsztyn has continuously been modernized. Visitors are introduced to scientific knowledge and information in simple and complex forms and they take away unforgettable experiences. The program is designed for visitors of all age groups. Both larger groups and individuals are welcomed. There are special performances for children as well.
Planetarium Olsztyn organizes permanent and temporary exhibitions focusing on astronomy and space science. Among the permanent exhibitions is an exhibition the Meteorites or Sputnik I.
