Plakánek Valley
The Plakánek Valley is a National Nature Reserve in the Czech Republic . It can be found in the Bohemian Paradise , about 4 km from the town Sobotka . The Plakánek Valley is a beautiful green valley surrounded by sandstone rocks with plenty of streamlets, lakes and ponds. It is treasured for the number of rare plant species growing here thanks to the various ecosystems of the area.. more »

Basic Information
The most common point of entry into the Plakánek Valley is a tourist path beginning right below the magnificent Castle Kost . From here we can enjoy the most beautiful views of the castle standing on a rocky reef among trees. In the Plakánek Valley we can find a wonderful trail for both pedestrians and cyclists, lined with rocks of various shapes with caves, holes, and dense forests. After a short walk through the Plakánek Valley, we will come to the dam of the Černý Pond, where stands the small cottage belonging to the famous actor Josef Dvořák. The more experienced tourists can go further to the left, and walk to the picturesque village Vesec u Sobotky displaying original timbered houses, and then go back on the road. At this point, the hikers can also turn right, and make a circuit through the village Dobšín .
