The region of the Peak District, whose territory is mostly occupied by the very first British National Park, the Peak District National Park, is situated in eastern part of England, in the area of East Midlands, near Buxton. The landscape boasts a very special charm, sheep-grazed crags contrast with the factory chimneys of nearby valley towns. It the south part, you will like the gently rolling hills of the limestone White Peak, while to the other sides you will see the landscape slowly changing in the wild, heather -clad moorlands of the Dark Peak, which is really dark. There are lots of tourist attractions, such as Oxlow caves and the stone circle at Arbor Low, nicknamed the Stonehenge of the North". The popular Pennine Way begins at Edale. Accommodation can be easily found e. in Castleton. The nearest airport is in Manchester (MAN) (9 km from Heald Green).
