Oceania House displays the history and the foundation of the settlements on the Cocos Islands. On the walls of the wooden building, we can see artifacts once owned by the first inhabitants of the island. Oceania House shows the everyday life of indigenous people of Sumatra and Java. In the museum, we can also see the belongings of the first owner of the Coconut (Keeling) Islands, Captain John Cluiniese Ross. The old wooden boats and armoury from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries are partly placed in the museum, and partly in its surroundings.
