Norwich, situated in the heart of the fertile East Anglian countryside, is one of the best preserved cities in United Kingdom. It lies in the east part of England (Norfolk), 160 km (100mi) from London. Tourists or other visitors travel to this city pretty often since it is a good starting point to be able to admire important monuments , of which the most sought-after destinations are Norwich Cathedral and mainly Norwich Castle (and Castle Museum), followed by the Church of St Peter Mancroft and the Stranger's Hall. Norwich has one of the youngest universities and the population of this attractive city approximates around 390,000. It is especially the pleasant lowland character of the land that gives tourists so many opportunities to explore, admire and enjoy in this country. With the whole family, you can visit e.g. the Banham Zoo or the Bridewell Museum, formerly a jail but now housing exhibitions with e.g. old machines or advertisements.
