North Malé Atoll is located about 50 km east of Atol Rasdhoo . In its southern part lies Malé , the capital of the Maldives . On this atoll, we can find many small straits between the islands, which are the best places for diving. The most typical and most interesting are Velassaru Caves, a massive cave with overhangs. You can see here sharks, turtles and rays, directly at the bottom, in the depth of up to 30 m. Vaagali Caves are also worth visiting. These are caves full of sponges and soft corals located at the depth of about 15 m. Last, there is Guraidhoo Kandu - a central reef crack with many species of reef fish and large fish from the open sea. This place is a protected sea area.
