The Confucian Ngoc Son Temple can be found in Hanoi , the capital of Vietnam . It lies on an islet on the Hoan Kiem Lake. It is connected with the bank via the popular red wooden Huc Bridge (Sunbeam Bridge) . Ngoc Son Temple is devoted to the General Trần Hưng Đạo who conquered the Mongols in the 13th century, to the scholar Van Xuong and to the patron saint of doctors, La To. Ngoc Son Temple was built in the 18th century, later it was reconstructed by Nguyen Van Sieu in 1864. On the bank of the lake, there are beautiful restaurants with French style terraces.
