The National Museum of American History was first open in 1964 as the History and Technology Museum. It was given the present name in 1980. During the period of 2006 - 2008, the National Museum of American History was redeveloped and modernised, which cost 85 million dollars. At present, the three-storey museum offers exhibits that present the history of America and the life of its inhabitants. The first floor is focused on transport and technology. The second floor presents a variety of artefacts that demonstrate American ideals and present famous American personalities. The third floor shows exhibits connected with American wars, politics, entertainment, music and sports.
The National Museum of American History is open daily from 10 to 17:30. Admission: free.
