Mt. Kenya National Park is a protected area and the UNESCO Site in Kenya
. It is situated in the central part of the country around the second highest mountain, Mount Kenya
(5 199 m) . The Mt. Kenya National Park occupies an area of 715 km2
. It was established in 1949. It consists of mostly mountainous landscape. Most of the park is situated at an altitude of 3000 m. You can see the evolution of Afro-alpine flora in this park. Mt. Kenya National Park has been registered in the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1997.
