Mount Tai is a sacred mountain and the UNESCO Site in China . It is situated in the eastern part of the country, in the province of Shandong, north of the city Tai'an. Mount Tai is 1532m high. The locality has been an important sacred cult place for 3,000 years. The path to the summit of Mount Tai is surrounded by temples, pavilions and memorial sites. At the top of the mountain, there is a temple of the Nephrite Emperor with the bronze statues of tao gods. It has been one of the most frequented tourist sites in China . There is a lift to the summit. Mount Tai was registered to the list of UNESCO World Heritage in 1987.
