Morskie Oko, in Slovak: Morské oko) is a mountain lake at the border between Poland
in the High Tatras
. It is the deepest lake in the High Tatras. The lake is situated in the heart of the mountains, in the Valley of Rybí potok, elevated 1395 metres. This mountain lake had been created by iceberg and its depth is some 51 metres. The area of the lake is approximately 35 hectares. The surrounding peaks are truly impressive - they are elevated over 2,000 m above sea. One of the grand summits is the highest mountain in Poland, named Rysy
. There are several marked tourist trails in the surroundings.
