Tourist information and destination rating

Category: Region, Local time: 00:51:43

Mid Wales and Brecon Beacons, popular tourist region at the border between Wales and England, is mostly covered with the national park which includes four mountain ranges - Black Mountains (in the west), Fforest Fawr, Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains (in the east). It is a mountain landscape with smooth, grassy slopes. In the southern edge of the park you can come across limestone cliffs, gorges, waterfalls and caves. The region is a must for outdoor people, fishermen and hikers. There area of the western Black Mountains, is very interesting as it is nearly wilderness with sharp peaks and impressive moorlands, near Llanddeussant you can find a splendid lake called Llyn Fan Fach. The cavern labyrinth, Dan-yr-Ogof Caves, is definitely worth the visit too.
