The Mecklenburg Lake Plateau is a plain platform with lakes in the north-eastern part of Germany
, in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern region. Mecklenburg Lake Plateau is drained by the rivers Havola, Elda and Elbe. The water flows into the North Sea. There are several lakes, of them best-known are e.g. Müritz Lake , which is the largest as it occupies an area of approximately 117 km². Then there are lakes Kölpinsee, Fleesensee, Plauer See and Schwerin. In the area of the Mecklenburg Lake Plateau there are several natural parks with unique flora and fauna.
