Masjid-i Jami is typical for the area of the Herat . It was built of unburnt bricks, without the use of wood and stone. Masjid-i Jami has a rectangular floor plan. The main entrance gate points at east, and there are other five entrance portals along the northern and the eastern walls. The walls and gates are decorated with blue tiles with floral patterns. The eastern side of the mosque is decorated with arched niches, and ended with minarets. The portals of Masjid-i Jami have gemel arches of brick and columns of pink stone. Inside the courtyard with arcades are houses of prayer and shrines. The biggest tomb of Masjid-i Jami is crowned with further two minarets decorated with blue tiles..
