Los Glaciares National Park was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. The area boasts high mountains and a great number of glaciers (47 large ones and nearly 200 smaller glaciers). These glaciers serve as a water supply for glacial lakes, the largest of which is Lago Argentino, 160 kilometres in length. Los Glaciares is the second largest national park in Argentina.
