About Kralicky Sneznik

The mountain is located on the northeastern border of the Pardubice Region and Poland. It is highest peak of the mountain ridge. The mountain forms a main European watershed line, which means that the water from the streams and rivers flowing down the Kralicky Sneznik is directed into three seas - the Black, the Baltic and the North Sea. The slopes are the source area of one of the most important rivers in the Czech Republic, the Morava River. The starting point for the hike to the top of Kralicky Sneznik is the village Stříbrnice. The marked trail is led along skiing runs to a mountain chalet called Návrší which offers a beautiful view of Mount Praděd and a water reservoir Dlouhé Stráně. The spring of the Morava River is just under the peak of Kralicky Sneznik. Right under the peak you will see a distinctive stone formation called Vlaštovičí stones. The top of Kralicky Sneznik comprises a large platform. There is the ruins of a stone lookout tower. Kralicky Sneznik and Mount Sněžka have the peaks both in the Czech Republic and in Poland . There is a mountain chalet on the Polish side which offers a fantastic view of the Orlické Mountains, the Hrubý Jeseník as well as the part of the ridge on the Polish side. When the weather is good, you can identify the Krkonoše Mountains as well. The area of Kralicky Sneznik is a national nature reserve.

The hike was an extremely special experience, we were walking 12 km and did not meet a soul... just the elephant, near the top. No kidding. There is a statue of an elephant. Why, nobody knows, exactly. The only answer I got was, "students from Brno brouhgt it, sometime before the second world war."
