There is a famous Gallery of Naive Art Kovacica in the village Kovacica. The gallery was founded in 1955 as part of the cultural center. It was the first Gallery of Naive Art in Yugoslavia at that time. It is the most important cultural facility in the village. It collects works of naive artists of the Slovak nationality. Most people in the village Kovacica do painting and thus small art galleries and studios are in many private homes.
Tourists visiting Kovacica can visit the workshop of Mr. Jan Nemecek and become familiar with techniques of hand-made musical instruments.
Kovacica has the Evangelical (Slovak) Church, built in 1828. It was built by the architect Sudaya Kunz from Timisoara. In the church you can admire a large painting, oil on canvas, titled "The Prayer of Christ in the Gethsemane Garden". The author is Konstanin Danilo. The painting is one of the author's most important pieces. There is excellent accoustics in the church building and the church is the venue for concerts and choir performances.
Kovacica has about 7,000 inhabitants, mostly the Slovaks, followed by the Serbs, the Romanians, and the Hungarians. It is located 27 km from the city of Pancevo . There is excellent railway connection with the cities of Pancevo and Zrenjanin .
