Knjaževac

There are other 17,000 people living in the adjacent villages. Knjaževac lies in a region with beautiful nature. The peaks of the Stara Planina exceed the height of 1400 m. The region Timočka Krajina is a part of the original Roman province Moesia. After the reign of the Emperor Domitian, it was divided into the Upper and the Lower Moesia, while Timočka Krajina stayed a part of the Upper Moesia. Thanks to the history of the region, Knjaževac is an important archaeological site, in addition to being a popular tourist destination and to its beautiful surroundings.
