The park occupies 22016 km2. The highest peak is Mount Logan (5959 m) , which is also the highest mountain in Canada. The Kluane National Park is a very popular tourist site. It offers hiking trails, rafting on the Alsek River, horseback riding through the Alsek Pass, boating on the river, kayaking and fishing. The Kluane National Park is a natural habitat of rare and endangered animal species, including grizzly bear, caribou and wild sheep.
The Kluane National Park, the Wrangell-St Elias National Park , the Glacier Bay National Park and the Tatshenshini-Alsek Nature Reserve are jointly incribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List as an international nature reserve. The parks are located in Canada and in the USA - more precisely, in the states of Yukon, Alaska and British Columbia.
