Since 1523, for almost 200 years, the castle was owned by one of the major branches of the Malovec family . At that time the castle reached its greatest expansion with 10 feudal villages, which belonged to the castle. In the 18th and 19th century the castle had many different owners. In 1948 the castle was expropriated and became a property of the state. Since 1st January 2003 Kámen Castle has been a subsidized association of the region of Vysočina. Kámen Castle is a popular tourist destination, also thanks to a number of interesting exhibitions held there. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful park with many protected trees. The oldest is known as the Castle beech, which is said to be over 200 years old..
