Incense Land is an area in Oman , where the incense trees and remains of a caravan oasis have been preserved. This area, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located in the southwestern part of the country. Incense Land shows that one of the most important trade activities and commodities in this locality in the ancient and medieval periods was the trade with incense. There are clear evidences in this locality , such as the remnants of the caravan oasis Shisr, the incense boats at Wadi Dawkah and in Khor Rori and Al-Baleed ports which are excellent examples of medieval fortified settlements. Incense Land was registered as the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000.
