The Green Mountain Lake is a lake situated in a glacial basin in the Kačacie valley in the High Tatras in Slovakia . It stretches to the altitude of 1575 asl. From the mountain lake drains the Green Stream (Zelený potok) , which turns into the Hviezdoslav´s Fall about 200 meters under the mountain lake.. more »

Basic Facts
The Green Mountain Lake´s area is 2.58 ha. It is 200 m long and 170 m wide. Its maximum depth is 4.1 m. The Green Mountain Lake has three affluents and is accessible on foot but only with a guide as part of the rise to the saddles Pustá lávka, Východní Železná brána and the Litvorové Saddle.Tourist Information
About 100 m away from the mountain lake goes the blue hiking trail, which is accessible to public from the 16th June to the 31st October. It can be reached from the north from the direction of Lysá Poľana (the trip takes 3.5 hours) . There are two ways to get to the Green Mountain Lake from the south – the first is starting at Zbojnická Chalet and continuing across the Prielom Saddle (the trip takes 3 hours) and the second is following the green tourist trail that starts at Sliezky House, going across the Poľský Saddle and then changing to the blue tourist trail (a 3-hour trip) .Tourist information and destination rating
