The Glacier National Park protects mountains with more than 130 lakes and many rare plants and animals. It is an area of 44 000 km2 in the Montana State in the USA . The nearest town is Kalispell . The Glacier National Park includes a virgin ecosystem spread on the area of 4100 km2. This area is known as the "Crown of the Continental Ecosystem". more »

You will find there mountainous tundra and waterfalls flowing out of two large lakes. In addition, Glacier National Park is world famous for protected historical buildings and hotel buildings. The only way through Glacier National Park is the Going-to-the-Sun Road. The protected monument of 1932 is one of the most dangerous roads in North America. The Glacier National Park and the neighboring Waterton Lakes National Park , together form the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park. In 2002 is was inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List..
