The Gili Islands are an archipelago situated east of the island Lombok, in Indonesia . It consists of three islands: Gili Trawangan (the largest of the islands and the most touristic) , Gili Meno (the smallest and the least tourist) and Gili Air. The Gili Islands offer truly magnificent beaches, beautiful blue, crystal clear water and an extremely rich submarine life. Probably the best snorkelling and diving sites are in the area of the island Lombok. There are plenty of places for snorkelling that are very close to the shore. However, you need to pay attention to the strong sea currents that can take you to the open sea. There are many diving specialists who offer their services on all islands of the archipelago. Visitors can admire a really huge amount of underwater treasures and beauties in the local waters. In addition to the various kinds of corals, Atlantic mantas, turtles, reef sharks and many other interesting animals live here. The visibility is up to 15 m, but you need to pay attention to the sea currents.
