German Tank Museum was founded in 1983. Its original purpose was to train German officers. Today, German Tank Museum offers expositions of tanks, armoured vehicles, hand weapons and uniforms. The exhibits on display originate from the 1916-1990 period. The exhibition does not only include tanks and armoured vehicles operated by the German Army, but also tanks used by the Red Army, British Army and the Army of the United States. German Tank Museum occupies the total area of 9000 m2, of which the exhibition space takes 7500 m2. The most interesting exhibits in the museum are, for example, the special police vehicle Daimler DZVR 21m or the tanks Panzer IV, Mark G or Sturmpanzer VI. German Tank Museum also organises a number of historical military events, such as shooting from old guns and cannons, etc.
German Tank Museum is opened from March 1st to November 30th, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 6 pm (last guided tour at 5 pm) . The admission is 5 euros for adults and 2.50 euros for children (aged 6-13) .
