Fitzroy Falls is named after a former local governor - Charles Fitzroy. Falls were officially discovered in the early 19th century by Charles Throsby, although the local aborigines knew about them for much much longer time. Fitzroy Falls are cascading waterfalls. They are 81 meters high. In a nice weather, the whole falls can be admired. Unfortunately there are times of bad weather when only a part of the Fitzroy Falls can be seen - but even seeing just a part of the falls is an astounding experience. Visitors will always experience a thundering sound of waterfalls. The Fitzroy Falls surroundings offer a view of beautiful nature and sometimes if you are lucky a kangaroos jump across the road. Near Fitzroy Falls there is a restaurant.
