Europabrücke

The Europabrücke is a beam bridge, which was in the time of the construction a new, unique technical solution. The bridge is 190 m high above the Sill River. It is 820 m long and 24.6 m wide. The longest sections between the columns reach 198 m. It is interesting that the Europabrücke includes a self-destructive system as it was built during the period of the Cold War. The Europabrücke can "sing", which you can hear if you stop for a while near the beams. The legend says that it is the ghosts of 22 workers who had died during the construction work. The "singing" is accountable to the noise generated by passing vehicles which is spreading throughout the construction elements. Today, the Europabrücke is a popular destination for tourists and photographers who use the Brenner Motorway to get from the north to Italy. There is the Europabrücke Restaurant just under the bridge where you can have a good meal and take a picture of this unique structure. From 1 the year 1984 you try bungee jumping from the Europabrücke - and enjoy the free fall which is almost 190 m long..
