Equator Village is located in Gan Island in South Addu Atoll, Maldives. About 1km from Gan International Airport situated ideally within a private enclosure in unobtrusive settings – Equator village offers private indulgence amidst flowering gardens, the beach and a priced historical site that begs exploration. Gan is an old RAF base, and holds an old fort complete with battlements, armory and air-force quarters, the airstrip (opened recently to international flights) , and a beautiful causeway connecting the four main islands of the Atoll, Gan, Hithadhoo, Maradhoo and Feydhu. The last British troops left the island sometime around 1976, yet Gan still remains a popular island for many returning guests who wish to explore its historic sites. Equator Village offers guests the opportunity to bask in comfort while doing so. Gan is 15sq km and can be explored leisurely on bicycle. Equator Village offers guests the opportunity to take bicycle rides along scenic gardened routes taking in the sights and culture of the island.

Lush tropical vegetation, lined with frangipani, bougainvilleas and palm trees soothe the nature lover and guests enjoy a variety of activity in post-colonial settings. Equator village offers all modern amenities including IDD, on demand TV, bar and a unique antique-billiard room. The beach is directly accessible from the pool area and guests are treated to snorkeling or diving activities to the house-reef. Located squarely on the equator, windsurfing, sailing and water-sports is second nature to the hotel, and its children's facilities and friendliest nature makes Equator Village the ideal stay for returning families and newcomers alike.

A total of 78 bungalow-style accommodations are lined beside flowering plants, gardened bushes and palms. The hotel also offers PADI certified diving, with historic dives like the one to the wreck of British Cargo ship Loyalty, which lies on the Maradhoo seabed, after it was scuttled following a torpedo attach by Japanese submarines in Diego Suarez, during the Second World War. Equator village is a Oasis for the history lover and the nature enthusiast alike.
