Engstligen Falls are 600 m high and have two levels. They are fed by many mountain creeks that join in one at the altitude of 2,000 m above sea level. Engstligen Falls can boast one of the greatest flows of all Alpine waterfalls. The Engstlige River begins below the falls.
The upper part of the falls is best to be seen from the upper station of the cableway Engstligenalp. The lower part of the falls is easily accessible by a pleasant mountain path from the lower station of the cableway. The Engstligen Falls have become a popular site for ice-climbers in winter.
