There are over 130,000 different exhibits stored in the museum, from jewelry to mummies and statues. On the ground floor of the museum, there are collections from the era of the Old Kingdom and from the time when Egypt was a Roman province. On the 1st floor, you will find the room of mummies, findings from the grave of Queen Hetepheres and Tutankhamen's tomb. It contains a stone sarcophagus with three coffins and the Golden Mask. In total, over 3,500 pieces of jewelry, vases, tools and weapons (that were used by the pharaoh himself) come from the Tutankhamen's tomb.
The Egyptian Museum possesses several mummies of pharaohs, including those of Ramses III and Amenhotep IV. Another significant collection comes from the time of the Union of Upper and Lower Egypt . The museum also exhibits the slate palette of King Narmer, one of the first records of Egyptian history.
